Grand Hotel's Louis Fleischer Memorial Fishing PierDescription
Always susceptible to storms, the Louis Fleischer Memorial Fishing Pier stands as one of the most popular guest activity locations at Grand Hotel's resort. It is utilized as a fishing pier on Mobile Bay today.
In years past, the longest piers dotting the bay front were referred to as wharves, serving as the landing site for the numerous bay boats servicing the Eastern Shore. The bay boats gradually went out of business following the opening in 1927 of the Cochran Bridge Causeway over the north end of Mobile Bay.
