Description

William Webster Throckmorton - son of Thomas Morford Throckmorton & Anne Webster. William was a member of Company K, 110th Infantry, 28th Division during World War I. He was wounded in action 29 July 1918 in Cierges, Picardie, France. While hospitalized for wounds, William was exposed to the influenza epidemic and ultimately died 18 September 1918 in Saint-Nazaire-sur-Charente, Poitou-Charentes, France, from lobar pneumonia, a complication of the flu.

The Nancy Laureanne (Throckmorton) Meighen Series photographs were passed from Thomas Morford Throckmorton [1858-1925] and his wife, Anna Webster [1867-1932], to their daughter, Nancy Laureanne Throckmorton [1899-1994], and her husband, Charles Patrick Meighen [1895-1980], to Mrs. Clara Meighen who donated the photographs to the Cornerstone Genealogical Society (144 E. Greene St., PO Box 547; Waynesburg, Pennsylvania 15370) in 2004. Researched and digitized for the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2007.
