This photograph was found in the Sarah Eliza (Eakin) Clovis [1852-1931] Family Bible. It has been identified as David Staggers [1845-1923] and his wife, Phoebe Jane (Eakin) Staggers [1849-1937]; however, other identified images of the couple from related family collections have cast doubt on that identification. Original, no photographer listed.

The Athaliah Frances (Clovis) Hoy Collection was passed from Marion Jasper Clovis [1849-1928] and his wife, Sarah Eliza Eakin [1852-1931], to their daughter, Athaliah Frances (Clovis) Hoy [1886-1987], then to her grandson, James Michael Hoy, who owned and shared the collection with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2008.
