Description

Wayne Street (looking west from Washington Street, along College Park) in Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania. The large house with the turret in the left-foreground was the home of the Thomas Riley Huffman family, and later the Henry Clay Sayers Jr. family. To its right, on the southeast corner of Wayne and Morris Streets, is "Sayers Manor," formerly the home of the Alfred Brashear and Margaret Kerr (Bell) Miller family, early leaders of Waynesburg College.

The William E. S. Fletcher Series photographs were taken by their namesake and given to Wilma "Billie" (Spitznogle) Guthrie, an employee from 1935-1947 in his photography studio at the Long Building on High Street in Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania. Wilma donated the photographs to the Cornerstone Genealogical Society (144 E. Greene St., PO Box 547; Waynesburg, Pennsylvania 15370) in 2009.
