Mary Phoebe "Aunt Poppy" (Roseberry) (Scott) Guthrie [1797-1892].
Mary Phoebe was the second daughter of Mathias Roseberry and Sarah Hughes of Center Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania. She was an older sister of Martha (Roseberry) Morris. She married 1. Robert Scott (1799-1833) 2. Archibald Guthrie (1749-1845). Mary had seven children from these two marriages. She served as a midwife in Center Township and was nicknamed, “Aunt Poppy.”
Cabinet card photograph from Rogers, Wilson Building, Waynesburgh, Pa. This cabinet card was likely made by taking a picture of an older picture, which would explain the subject's age and fashions from an era earlier than the cabinet card itself.
