Description

Robert Watson's sword, passed down through the family since his service as a member of Company D, 6th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry and Company D, 2nd Regiment, Pennsylvania Provisional Cavalry, during the Civil War. Robert was the husband of Catharine Anderson, and the son of John and Mary Ann (Almost) Watson.

The Watson Series photographs, documents, and heirlooms were passed from Robert Watson [1847-1942] and his wife, Catharine Anderson [1848-1933] to their daughter Ella May (Watson) Throckmorton [1893-1988] and her husband, Robert Lawrence Throckmorton Sr. [1889-1964] to their daughter, Katherine Jane (Throckmorton) Toothman, to her son Glenn Jacob Roy Thornton Toothman III who owned and shared the items with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2016.
