There is a 3 cent tax stamp on the back side indicating that the photo dates to the Civil War, probably between 1 August 1864 and 1 March 1865 during the time when a tax stamp higher than one cent was used. Original, professional photograph from A. Wallace, Photographer, Waynesburg, Pa.
