Wm. C. Harvey, (Rogersville, Pa.) to "Father and Mother" [Samuel & Sarah (Throckmorton) Harvey], letter, 24 March 1864. Transcribed by Candice Buchanan. "Rogersville March 24th 1864 Dear Father & Mother, I have been sworn in by Lieut. D. M. Rogers and also Mr. Sharpnack. I will go down to town with Lieut. Rogers tonight if there is no bad luck. I will be home on Tuesday next. I feel confident I am doing my duty. I hope you are contented. Your son. Wm. C. Harvey" William served as a Private in Co. I, 116th Pa. Inf. Regt. during the Civil War.

Harvey Collection was passed from Samuel Harvey [1820-1908] and his wife, Sarah Inghram Throckmorton [1829-1902], to their son Charles Tilton Harvey [1859-1926] and his wife, Deressa Hawkins [1860-1938], to their son Samuel Hawkins Harvey [1884-1931] and his wife, Irene Dunn Carter [1885-1987], to their son, Samuel H.
