Description
Alfred Myers - husband of Jane Jones Evans, son of Peter Myers & Pleasant Corbly.
This image appears to be a circa 1864-1865 reproduction of an earlier photograph such as a daguerreotype or ambrotype from the late 1850s or early 1860s.
There is a 4 cent tax stamp and a 1 cent tax stamp are on the back side indicating that the photo dates to the Civil War, probably between 1 August 1864 and 1 March 1865 during the time when a tax stamp higher than 1 cent was used.
Original, no photographer listed.
The Lynn Myers Crayne Series photographs were passed from Stephen Crayne [1813-1909] and his wife, Mary Bell [1816-1899], to their son David Bell Crayne [1851-1929] and his wife, Mary Jane "Jennie" Bane [1855-1944], to their son Hal Crayne Sr. [1879-1960] and his wife, Elizabeth Rush Myers [1877-1938], to their son Lynn Myers Crayne [1914-1993] who donated the photographs to the Cornerstone Genealogical Society (144 E.
