Family data, Hiram Porter Family Bible, The Holy Bible Containing the Old and New Testaments: Translated Out of the Original Tongues, and with the Former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised (Philadelphia: Hogan & Thompson, 1839). Bible owned in 1978 by Mrs. William Gaylord Rinehart of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who donated the Bible to the Greene County Historical Society (918 Rolling Meadows Road, P.O. Box 127; Waynesburg, Pennsylvania 15370). Researched and digitized for the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project between 2005-2014. Within the Hiram Porter Family Bible are family data pages torn from the William Rinehart and Elizabeth (Porter) Rinehart Family Bible. Elizabeth (Porter) Rinehart was the daughter of Hiram Porter and Margaret (Inghram) Porter. These pages also include two entries from the Inghram family. R. Porter. Died - At his home, in Franklin township, on Thursday the 8th Inst., Thos. R. Porter, of consumption aged 36 years. He was a son of Hiram Porter, deceased, and had only been sick about four weeks. He was unmarried and a kind, honorable, and upright gentleman, and a member of the M. P. Church.
