Tintype photograph believed to be John R. Patton [1822-1881] - husband of Anna Adelia Brown, son of Joseph Patton & Esther Paxton.
This image had been identified as John R. Patton's son John Houston Patton [1850-1910]; however, analysis of the photograph dates it to circa 1862-1867 when John Houston Patton would have been just a teen. It is possible that John Houston Patton's name was associated with the photograph as its owner rather than its subject.
The Eric Shane Patton Collection was passed from John Houston Patton [1850-1910] and his wife, Mary Lucinda Robison [1849-1931], to their daughter Minnie Robison Patton [1875-1949] to her son Knox Robison Patton [1901-1940] and his wife, Eleanor Rose Bartley [1912-1997], to their son Knox Robert Patton [1936-1996] and his wife, Lois May Kerchner, to their son Eric Shane Patton who owned and shared the collection with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2003.
