Needham family, pictured [Left-Right]: BACK - Charles Fitch Needham and wife, Hawley Varnum Needham and wife; FRONT - Caroline Olivia "Carrie" Needham, Risa Loretta (Titus) Needham, *Margaret Leonice (Needham) Still. One brother, George William Needham, is not present. A family story says that he absolutely refused to go with the others to have his picture taken that day. Risa tied a previous photograph of him to her bonnet straps (over her left shoulder), so that his "likeness" would be included. *Margaret Leonice Needham, Laura Weethee, and Lydia Weethee were the first three women to receive male-equivalent bachelor's degrees from Waynesburg College, graduating 23 September 1857, as identified in: Annual Catalogue of the Officers and Students of Waynesburg College for the Academic Year Ending September 1857.

The Margaret Leonice (Needham) Still Collection was passed from Margaret Leonice (Needham) Still [1838-1912] to her daughter, Cricket (Still) Tubbs [1866-1955], to her daughter, Bonnie (Tubbs) Watts [1906-1985], to her daughter, Bonnie (Watts) Cook, who owned and, with researchers John and Betty Hartman, shared the collection with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project in 2006.
