Beulah Church and graveyard in Morris Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania. Though this picture pre-dates their ownership, the house near the cemetery was later home to John Milton Clutter [1876-1956] and Minnie Belle (Wise) Clutter [1879-1969]. This photo was originally published in Matthias Rush, A History of the Rush Family (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: W. M. Dick & Co., 1899), as mentioned in the handwritten inscription on the reverse of the image. A 1934 reprint of the book is available to view at the Library of Congress. Handwritten inscription reads, "Beulah Church and Graveyard. The church was organized and house built in the year 1843. / Picture taken off a picture in a book written by Matthias Rush. / He commenced writing the book in 1890. Last chapter dated April 1898. / John M. & Minnie Wise Clutter bought the Stephens property in 1906 and moved there in April 1906. The old church had been moved on to the Stephens property. / John Milton Clutter - Born Oct. 25, 1876 died July 22, 1956. Minnie Wise Clutter - Born Jan. 18, 79 died Nov. 7, 1969. They were married May 16, 1900. They had 5 daughters, Olive Clutter Swart, Etta Clutter McWhorter, Veva Clutter Wright, Jamella Clutter McCormick Moore, Goldie Clutter Bamberger."
