PublisherOrganization Description
"At its height [H. F. Wendell & Co.] was the largest postmortem mail-order funeral card company, employing hundreds of women across the country to scour newspapers for obituaries. They could keep the single card and return $0.30 in a provided envelope." — Patrick Clement and Alanna Goodman (2018), owners of the H.F. Wendell & Co. Archive.
