Camp Greenville, founded by the Greenville YMCA in 1912 under Physical Director Charles J. Kilbourne, began as a summer camp for boys and evolved into a landmark institution focused on Christian values, leadership, and outdoor adventure. Originally held at Cedar Mountain and later Blythe Shoals, it found its permanent home atop the Blue Ridge at Cleveland Cliff, known as "Pretty Place." Leaders like “Uncle Johnny” Holmes and “Monk” Mulligan shaped its legacy. With community support, it grew to include chapels, lakes, athletic fields, and cabins. Camp Greenville continues to inspire generations through worship, service, and the pursuit of mind, body, and spirit.Collection
