Description

Brigadier General Micah Jenkins was a promising South Carolinian leader whose life was shaped and ultimately cut short by the Civil War. A top graduate of The Citadel and co-founder of Kings Mountain Military School, Jenkins quickly rose through the Confederate ranks. He fought bravely in major battles, earning the respect of Generals Lee and Longstreet, but was fatally wounded by friendly fire at the Battle of the Wilderness in 1864. His death devastated his young family and his lifelong friend, Asbury Coward. Jenkins' story is one of promise, sacrifice, and the personal costs of war on Southern families.
