Photograph of 823 and 825 Broad Street (the Proctor Building) built in 1889. The H. P. Proctor sign is visible on the 825 storefront facade. There is a raised flag above the second story bay window, and there are awnings on all storefronts as well as bikes and pedestrians on a wooden boardwalk over a dirt street. Between 1894 and 1895, the Proctor store dealt in "watches, jewelry, pianos, organs and sewing machines" according to the City Directory of that year.
