1003.01.751Description
Photograph of a young woman's bedroom as it was furnished in 1898. Pictured is a bed with a metal headboard and down comforter, a desk, a vanity, a glass table, and an upholstered daybed covered with pillows. Two bay windows are visible with sheer curtains. There are two picture rails with pictures including one of a hat, and the lower one, a plate rail, holds many photographs. The vanity set has a mirror, chair, and table which is covered with small objects. The glass table holds many books. In the right corner is a tall doll. There is a woman seated at the desk, which is piled with papers and photos, though the young woman who lived there (Elizabeth B. F. Crosman) was reportedly away studying at Penn State University when the photo was taken.
