A blue-gray cloth hardcover copy of "A Gentle Knight of Old Brandenburg" by Charles Major. The book's title and author are stamped in white type at the top center of the front cover. Beneath the author's name is an oval illustration, outlined by a white decorative border with roses and vines, three candles each on the left and right, and a lyre at the top center. The illustration appears to have been adhered to the book by hand. It depicts two men and one woman, all dressed in late Baroque / Rococo garb and wearing white powdered wigs. The woman wears a ruffled bodice with red collar. The man holding the woman's hand, bent over as if preparing to kiss it, is dressed in a military coat with a ribbon in his hair.Category
