Musical instrument. The wood portions are painte black or covered with red cloth. The bellows are a paper and cloth combination stretched over a metal frame. Edges of bellows are green and the paper is lthographed in gree clover pattern. Valves are iron but appear to have been plated witha shiney metal. The note stops are wood with mother of pearl finger discs. Hohner appears all over the instrument. There are metal tags at the corners of the bellows in gold, tan, red, white, blue and black. Tags have likeness of M. Hohner and reads; "HOHNER ACCORDEAO BEST MADE Made in Germany". Barley visible in silver paint on front side os something about winning highest award at St. Louis, there is a date that could be 1904. Mr. Price said accordian was left behind in a hous in Shelby Co. when the Lawrence "tot" Treon family moved to Indianapolis. It was in the basement of the house and was completely immersed in water at least once by the time Mr. Price found it.Collection
