A balance consisting of a scaled arm suspended off-center; there are 3 sets of hooks on the balance which are attached by pins on either side of the balance; another hook moves along the scaled arm, stopped at the end by a round metal disk; an iron flask-shaped weight hangs on this hook by a metal loop on top ot the weight. It is stamped on the widest flat part: 105/L. WHITFIELD/&/SONS. The arm is stamped with scale markings on two sides.Collection
