Hand-embroidered white-on-white bedspread with 6" filet border. Center medallion is vase of flowers, vines, and flowers around the medallion. Embroidery is french knots, satin stitch, cording, ect. Bedspread is 3 panels, outer panels approximately 32" and narrower center panel. "Marg'ret McCluer - 1824" embroidered on upper part. Bedspread was handed down through her husband's family. Margaret McCluer was an early settler in Brandywine, TWP. According to donor, she never married.Collection
