A tool used by harness makers to hold work while stitching. Consists f a bence for worker to sit on. Attached to bench is a spring loaded clam vice. After placing the work inthe clam vice the harness maker used his foot to push down a wood bar with a leather strap. The strap was also attached to the vice and when the desired tension was obtained the maker locked the lever in place with a rounded metal guide on the forward leg.Collection
