History: The blow out was a natural gas explosion (see Chadwick, pages 305-307) on August 11, 1890. This photo was probably taken on the 12th or 13th. Marks: written in ink across back of mount is "Pictures taken of the 'blow out' which occurred at the/junction of Conn's Creek and Flat Rock River." in pencil is "August 11, 1890".Collection
