Glass bottle; tapers from 4-1/4 diameter at bottom to 1" diameter at top; bottle made of dark glass; embossed on bottom; "I" inside a diamond and embossed near neck of bottle is "2-1/2 FL. OZS." paper label printed in red, blue, and black; gives directions for use and for opening also has image of lady wearing blue skirt, red and white top, holding straw hat; metal cap is unusual design, directions indicated cap some sort of tear away closure.
Paper label on bottle; printed in blue ink "Colorite/(Reg US Pat Off)" and bottom of label in red and black ink is "(Carpenter-Morton Company/Boston, Mass., USA"
Contents of bottle is a navy blue dye for straw hats.Collection
