Cardboard or pasteboard box covered with paper; lid has a red band around top edge and on top of lid is drawing of a factory building and wording to identify product as photgraphic dry plates manufactured by the Hammer Dry Plate Company of St. Louis, Missouri with a caution to keep in dry place and to open only in a dark room; one end flap of lid is in blue paper with white printing identifying contents as 1 dozen extra fast Hammer Plates with a code number "2380". Lid has drawing of a tack hammer and written on the handle is "HAMMER DRY PLATE CO" below hammer is the word "Trade Mark"
