Corners of box & lid joined by mortise. 2 small pin hinges on back connect lid & main body of box. front has hook on box that closes over a screw in lid to secure lid. front of box has gold stencil letters "Carborundum". top of lid has color decal of Indian in profile w/plains -style headdress, lettering around Indian denotes trademark for Carborundum of Niagara Falls. inside of lid is paper lining w/image of Niagara Falls and identifies as Carborundum Niagara Scythe Stones.Collection
