A brass or bronze metal letter opener. The top of the tool features a cowboy motif. Beneath it, on either side of the tool, are Native American and gun motifs. The body of the tool reads: Camp Shelby.

Context

Camp Shelby is a military post in Hattiesburg, MS. It is the nation's largest state-owned and operated training site. It was established in 1917 and named for Isaac Shelby, a Revolutionary War hero and the first Governor of Kentucky. Shelbyville and Shelby County were both named for Isaac Shelby.
