Bottom has shiny finish; point and cover for point, dull finish; lid 1 1/4" tall, threaded edged; indentation near top; ridges; top covers and screws into bottom to protedt oil can spout; bottom is rounded and full with edge 1/4" from bottom, tapers in and up to a gear shaped edge; spout fits into this; shout approx. 1" tall with inddentation, threaded, to receive cover. Made in USA on top lip; bottom has "Patented Sept. 10 1895" printed in circle.
