Description

Natural color wood cane: 4-1/2" below the crook is an engraved band that is 1-1/2" at the widest; engraving reads "Marshall Smith/1845/Dec 14/1925" and is also stamped sterling; has a tan color rubber tip on the bottom. Cane presented to Marshall Smith when he retired as Shelbyville postmaster. Donor's late wife was great granddaughter of Marshall Smith.
