Metal frame adjustable chair 4 feet are made of individual metal tubes that meet in center to form pedestal column for chair, the 4 feet are strengthened by a metal ring that attaches to each tube; has a elongated arch shaped seat with a caned surface, frame for seat made of wood; behind seat are 2 metal tubes that connect to a flexible back rest made of plastice like substance. Paper tag under seat reads "KS - 1553 Operator's Chair/ Western Electric/ Made in USA" Used for the Manilla phone system. Donor's husband worked fro Indiana Bell and helped install dial service at Manilla. Brought home chair to prevent its destruction
