Description

32"x29"x17". Rocking chair. Arched back has decorative carving around edges & center is woven cane; seat is blue fabric w/red, white, green & dark blue needlepoint floral pattern; apron has 7 horizontal ridges, rectangular cartouche in apron above front legs; front legs are turned, taper to smaller size at bottom, have ring 1 1/8" from top of rocker. Margaret Birely was daughter of Charles Birely of local furniture factory fame; used in Birely home at 120 W. Mechanic; when she broke up housekeeping gave to donor's mother; donor gave in memory of her mother, Serena Perry.
