Children's Brown Leather Boots

Description

Pair of child's leather boots; high topped; lace in front thru 7 pairs f holes; soles are stitched and nailed to uppers;; heels are nailed on. There is a brass plate over the first set of lacing holes near the toes; there is also a brass plate at the toe reading "Pat Nov. 29, 1859" There is a number "5" cut into the sole leather. Was a note in one boot saying "These shoes are the property of H. C. Morrison. If you look close you can see the date November 29, 1859 on the toes of these shoes". Note was on piece of stiff paper and thrown away to avoid cluttering files.
