Description

Pressed clear glass, fluting around bottom edge, diamond-shaped section around oval on underside; slight pink tinge; overall shape is oval. According to donor this is a master salt which was kept on the table and individual salts were filled from it. The object was used by donor's parents, John Charles Diewort (1864-1961) and Mary Crafton Diewort (1863-1929), when they set up housekeeping in 1893.
