Has basic shape of a pole ax. Has a handle 27 3/4" long attached to a maul shaped head and a piece f rion 4 1/2" long x 4 1/8" wide x 1/16" thick has been driven into the bottom side of the maul shaped piece of wood. Wood parts appear to have been turned or carved from one block of wood.
Attached to handle with a thumbtack was a note reading: "Combined cabbage cutter and tamper. Used when making kraut in a keg or barrel. Contributed by Warren C. Wright, Morristown, IND:Collection
