Daybook kept by Girton & James for their store in Flat Rock, Indiana for 1853-1854. 197 pages of faintly lined paper entering business transactions on a daily basis. Spine has a red leather patch stamped with gold lettering reading "DAY BOOK". Below it is a black patch stamped with gold lines but no lettering. Donor gave to Louis Kuhn to give to museum so there are no signed papers for it. Donation, 11/18/1981. Used by Girton & James.
