Description

Teacher’s desk was originally in the Franklins school building. In 1922 D. Wray DePrez acquired it when the Charles Major school was built and it was moved there. In 1961 it was 100 years old. D. Wray gave it to his son John C. DePrez and he gave it to Anne DePrez, his daughter. In 2019 she donated it to the Grover. It has 4 turned spindle legs; the mid portion of the top has a green slate for writing atop a slanted hinged cover which open to a storage area. In this space is a paper with a written version of its provenance. On either side of this slanted area is a flat space. Around the rear top of the desk is a wooden piece, which extends to each side for about a foot
