Description

China head, neck, part of shoulders, hands and feet which are painted to look as if it is wearing shoes. Shoes are brown with white sides and brown buttons up the side, face has blue eyes, dark eye brows, dark hair, dark rose lips and cheeks. Body is muslin and filled with sawdust. Head is attached with string through 4 holes in shoulders, 2 in front and 2 in back. Donor notes purchased for donor by mother (Mary Crafton Deiwert in 1902 probably at the General store in Clarksburg, IN. Paid 25 cents for it.) Donor was to old to play with dolls at age 12 but was given the doll to make clothes for and learn to sew. used by Mabel Diewert Babbitt
