Catre de visite of Ralph Waldo Emerson; bust view, square to camera, but has head turned slightly to his right; hair parted on left and combed over, covers about half of ear, sideburns come gorward on cheeks and end at or just below jaw line; clothing details mostly opaqued out, does have a dark scarf like tie done in large horizontal knot. Back is printed "E. & H. T. Anthony, New York.
