Single bore, hit-or-miss engine; bolted to 2 boards 2.5" x 3.5"; top of engine extends past its base on one end and this long end appears to have operating control; part of the casting is an open tank probably for holding water fro cooling; 2 fly wheels on either side of engine; one wheel has a fold out crank, other wheel has a drum like extension from center axis.
Part of motor housing casting reads "330656MFD by/ John Deere/ Tractor Company/ Waterloo, Iowa/ Patent Applied for/ Type E/ 1 1/2 HP/ 600 RPM" Patent date on spark control.
Turning wheel with crank started engine; other wheel with drum transferred engine power by means of a belt drive.Collection
