Tool has a black wood handle, thicker at butt end than where joins metal shaft; handle is painted black and has 2 decorative lines around the center and another at the bottom just above the copper color collar; shaft is iron, sides are flattened but slightly rounded at top and bottom; at end of shaft is oval shaped file with dwidely separated teeth; file is screwed onto a plate that is fixed so it is flexible on the end of the shaft. Unable to locate proper name for tool at time of accession typeing; but it was used to file rough spots on horse's teethCollection
