Obstetrical forceps in 2 parts (AB); left-hand handle has a lip on the top, right handle has lip on bottom, the arms of the forcep fit between the lips; the handles are metal with finger grips cast in; arms of the forcep are twice curved; far end is wider and has elliptical openings on each arm; there is a notch on the butt end on the right handle. Mark: stamped on top of one of the pieces "A. S. Aloe & Co". History: used in delivery of babies; grasped baby's head and assisted in removing baby from birth canal.Use
