Object is shaped like an upside down "U"; secured through a ring at the top is a pulley; e3ch side of the "U" is made of 2 pieces of strap iron and between the strap iron is another piece of iron that terminatesin a curved point; this middle piece of iron is attached to another piece of iron at the top which acts as a tripping lever; there are 2 horizontal reinforcing bars approx 11 1/2" below the top of the tool; the tripping levers have "H 4" molded on them.
Special Function: used to lift hay from a wagon into the hay mow of a varn; whole device lowered from the mow into wagon, trip levers released and the prongs would help hold the hay between the arms as it was raised to the mow; had a green paper tag on it reading "donated by Firn Grover"
