Description

Object is shaped like an upside down "U"; at the top is a ring; each side of the "U" is made of 2 pieces of strap iron and between the strap iron is another piece of iron that terminates in a curved point; this middle piece of iron is attached to another piece of iron at the top which acts as a tripping lever;; there are 2 reinforcing bars appros. 11 1/2" below the top of the tool; the tripping levers have "H 4" molded on them. Special Function: Used to lift loose hay from a wagon from a wagon into the hay mow of a barn; whole device is lowered from the mow into the hay wagon, trip levers released and the prongs help hold the hay between the arms as it is raised to the mow; had blue paper tay on it reading "Raymond Compton" Found In Collection
