Has a solid wood bottom; sides rails are open with 5 slats (3/4" x 1/2" x 3 1/4") between top & bottom rails; head posts are 18" high x 1" square and there is a solid wood panel (6 3/4" wide) between the uprights; foot posts are 12" high x 1" square and there is a solid wood panel (6 3/4" wide) between the uprights; mattress is 20" x 12 1/2" x 1" covered with print outing flannel, also has a pillow covered in same material; quilt is 25" x 12 1/2" made of 2" square quilt blocks has outing flannel for backing and navy blue binding on all edges
Russel Stine made 3 doll beds like this, one was for his daughter, others for his nieces; donor was one of the nieces and this is the only one of the three beds to have survived; Stine worked in the Shelbyville furniture factories; donor made the bedclothing used prior to donation
