Game has an exterior cover of dark red cardboard which has an embossed surface, exterior completely encloses game board and secures by a tuckflap; when closed it resembles a small book, and printed in silver color on one side like the spine of a book "HORSE/ RACE/ VOL. 534/ E. S. LOWE"; game board is made of wood, top surface has 6 rows of 15 holes with bottom of board marked start and top marked finish; on right side are 2 images of horse being ridden by jockeys and on left side is image of grandstand; under board surface is storage area for dice and storage area for play tokens 6 'Mutual Tickets'
Printed near bottom of one side is "E. S. Lowe"
Child's game; no rules survived with game but suspect was played by putting tokens in starting row and rolling one die and moving token to correspond with number on die; players took turns doing this until one of the tokens reached the finish lineCollection
