Description

Tool made from single piece of round steel rod; one end of rod is threaded other end of rod is flattened and formed in a hook shape These hanger bolts were manufactured by Vandegrift & Morris for the furniture industry to hold down bedsprings being shipped in box cars. Tools greatly compressed the bedsprings and made it possible to get more on a box car. J. E. Vandegrift was a local inventor who designed the tool.
