Collection of negative cariers; 2 are 11 1/4" x 10 1/4"; 3 are 8 7/8" x 6"; 3 are 12 1/4" x 9 3/4"; 3 are 17 3/8" x 13 1/4"; most have same basic construction consisting of an open frame with a center panel, space between center panel & outside of frame is grooved so another light tight panel can slide in & out, this type can carry 2 negatives, one on each side of centerpanel; 2 carriers made differently & are probable older, ther too are a frame, but has only 1 sliding panel, other side is a hinged door that secures by means of a bar latch, inside is another frame probably for glass plates.
Special function: used to carry unexposed plaates (glass or film) to camera and then back to darkroom for processing with out light damage; two with doors worked by opening door (in the dark) putting glass plate in the interior frame, closing securing door, putting into camera, opening slide in front, making exposure, replacing slide, remove from camera, back in dark room, door opened & plate removed for processing; others similar except could do 2 negatives instead of one.
