Illustrated Bible copyrighted 1890. Front displays a nativity scene, scenes from the three wise mens travels, the holy grail, and a loaf of sacramental bread along with the words "Holy Bible." All of the front illustrations are inlaid with gold leafing and there is a shape inset in the center of the cover. As a precursor to the Bible, there is a "Bible Stories for Young People" section. Starting on page 1027, there are certificates of Matrimony, Births, deaths, Memorandum, and a Family Temperance pledge. The marriages listed are "Louis E Paul to Isabelle Jones, Aug 18, 1890", "Clarence A Paul to Esther D smith, Sept 28, 1916", "Forest K Paul to Dorothy Wilde Gates, July 20, 1922," "Forest K Paul to Marie Miller, Dec 18, 1938," "Clarence A Paul to Jewell Bartlow, Dec 4, 1943." Under births are listed: Louis Edward Paul, Jan 18, 1862, Isabelle Jomes, Dec 10, 1861, Effie Paul, May 15, 1891, Clarence Allen Paul, July 26, 1892, Forrest Kenneth Paul, April 29, 1895, and Lillian Marie Miller Paul, Sept 7, 1903. Under deaths are listed: Effie Paul, July 8, 1891, Louis E Paul, Jan 17, 1929, Clarence A Paul, March 12, 1964, Jewell B Paul, Oct 20, 1976, and Forrest K Paul, Aug 1, 1979. Under the Family Temperance Pledge are listed: Louis E Paul, Belle Paul, Clarence Paul, and Forrest K Paul. On binding, it states there are 2000 illustrations throughout the Bible. These illustrations are stated to be "Illustrative Engravings on Steel, Wood, and in Colors" on the title page.
Physical Description: Dark brown leather binding with inlaid gold leafing inset shape in center of both front and back covers. On front cover the words "Holy Bible" are inlaid. There is a nativity scene, scenes from the three wise mens travels, the holy grail and a loaf of sacremental bread. These same illustrations are on the back.
