Shaped like a narrow backless bench of four legs. There is an inclined board on top which rest on a block of wood 5 1/2" high. The inclined board and the bench habe aligned slots through which a vertical board is extended. The top of the vertical board has two smaller blocks nailed to either side. At base of vertical board is a horizontal board held in place by pegs. Area where worker sits has narrowed section so legs can comfortbly stride bench.
Used to shave shingles with a drawknife. Worker sat on end designed for him, and placed shingle in clamp section of vertical board then used foot to old and trim shingle to desired thickness.
Made from milled lumber, all peices have drying cracks. Not sturdy enough to use anymore.Collection
